Weber Shandwick's Telling Your Story workshop is a free six-hour, interactive public relations training session designed to help non-profits organizations address their communications goals, questions and concerns.

This year's workshop is again co-sponsored by the University of St. Thomas Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter.

Joel Kramer

Joel Kramer
Editor and CEO of MinnPost

Joel Kramer is the editor and CEO of MinnPost, a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota. Joel moved to Minneapolis in 1983 to become editor of the Star Tribune and served as publisher and president from 1992 to 1998. He then spent three years as a senior fellow at the University of Minnesota School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

In 2003, Joel started a think tank called Growth & Justice, focusing on state policy that simultaneously creates economic growth, does so sustainably, and shares the fruits of the growth broadly. He served as executive director until 2007, when he became board chair. Joel served as chair of the board of the Children's Theatre Company in the mid-1990s, and more recently as board chair of Achieve!Minneapolis, which galvanizes community support for public education in Minneapolis.

Jamie Millard
Communication and Marketing, Charities Review Council

Recognized as one of Minnesota’s top young creative minds, Jamie Millard brings a passion for innovation and dedication to quality to all aspects of her work. Jamie leads the communication and marketing strategies for the Charities Review Council, a leading organization in ensuring nonprofit excellence, where she has more than tripled online engagement for the organization in her less than year on staff. She is also the co-founder and managing director of Paper Darts, the Twin Cities’ premier literary arts magazine, and sits on the board of directors for the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network-Twin Cities, where she chairs the communications committee.

Jeff Achen
Interactive Media Strategist, GiveMN.org

Jeff Achen is the interactive media strategist for GiveMN, where he manages the day-to-day operations, communication efforts and social media strategy. He serves as the primary voice for @givemn and administers GiveMN’s Facebook and YouTube pages. Jeff splits his time equally between GiveMN and two community foundations – the Minnesota Community Foundation and The Saint Paul Foundation – where he is responsible for developing and executing social media strategy and print publications, and helping to build new marketing partnerships.

Prior to joining GiveMN, Jeff was the online editor and multimedia producer for Thisweeklive.com, a community newspaper group in the south metro suburbs of Minneapolis-St. Paul. He is no stranger to the concept of service, having served in the U.S. Navy and as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nepal.
